Author Info : Brand new to modding. Description : Replaces most weapons with an 0verp0wered M4 rifle. Additional Credits to : Bad Karma, Don Tello =========================================================================== * What is included * New levels : None Sounds : Yes (that's really "sound" singular) Music : No Graphics : Yes Dehacked/BEX Patch : Yes Demos : No Other : No Other files required : None * Play Information * Game : DOOM / DOOM2 Map # : N/A Single Player : Designed for Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes Other game styles : None Difficulty Settings : N/A * Detailed Description * The chaingun, plasma rifle, and super shotgun have been removed from the game altogether. The fist, chainsaw and rocket launcher have not been altered. The pistol, shotgun and BFG have been replaced with an M4. The BFG fires at a much more rapid rate than the pistol or shotgun. Increased damage has been simulated by decreasing the health and mass of the monsters. Ammo availability has been reduced. "sopmod.wad" is the finished version with moderately increased damaged and moderately reduced ammo. "oldmod.wad" is identical except for the dehacked lump. The two dehacked lumps have been included separately so that they can be added to Vanilla Doom. They are not necessary if you are launching with a source port. "oldmod.wad" greatly increases the damage factor and greatly reduces ammo. * Construction * Base : Modified DT-M16.WAD Build Time : 15 hours give or take Editor(s) used : WinTex5.0 / Slade / ViM (My preferred DeHackEd version) Known Bugs : Some monsters may fall into pits before they are killed by the player. It's not annoying enough to fix. May Not Run With : Skulltag (BFG doesn't work correctly), Legacy (Sounds don't work correctly) Tested With : Chocolate Doom, PrBoom+, ZDoom, jDoom * Copyright / Permissions * Authors MAY use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse. I couldn't contact Don Tello (cwhittle@isn.net) to request permission for using his modifications because that e-mail address is no longer valid. Alternately, I included a copy of his original text file with this package. If you plan on using these sprites for something, DO NOT REMOVE BAD KARMA'S COPYRIGHT SYMBOLS. Even though I did modify Don Tello's modification of the original art, he must have worked pretty hard getting it to look that good. All I added was the charging handle, selector lever and bolt release, and I modified the dark box (ejection port?) to look more like a data plate. The color palette has also been neglected. I personally prefer the dirtier brown- tinted look ... it looks like a weapon that's been through hell. You MAY distribute this file, provided you include this text file, with no modifications. You may distribute this file in any electronic format (BBS, Diskette, CD, etc) as long as you include this file intact. * Where to get the file that this text file describes * The Usual: ftp://archives.3dgamers.com/pub/idgames/ and mirrors
